2025-2026 DARTS INFORMATION

The Divisional Arts program is designed to inspire and equip musicians and artists through performance-based ensembles and an education-focused training program.  The purpose of this program is to prepare members for greater involvement and leadership within their corps.

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA
To participate in DARTS, the following requirements must be met:
· Meet the age requirements (see below)
· Students wishing to join DYB, Youth Praise Team, Divisional Creative Arts (CONNECT) must be eligible for and attend Youth Councils.
· Commit to participating for the full program duration and all scheduled dates (SEE CALENDAR HERE)
· Be actively involved in their corps and have Corps Officer approval.

2025-2026 DARTS GROUPS

JUNIOR CREATIVE ARTS (Ages 10-13)
INTERMEDIATE CREATIVE ARTS (Ages 12+)
DIVISIONAL CREATIVE ARTS (CONNECT) (Ages 14+)
GUITAR (LIMITED SPACE) (Ages 12+)

AUDITION INFORMATION

ALL Participants MUST register and submit a video audition by SEPTEMBER 5

At the start of your audition video, please clearly state:
· Your first and last name
· Your age
· Your corps
· The group you are auditioning for

INSTRUMENTAL & PERCUSSION AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

PEACHSTATE BRASS (ages 10+)

To be considered for Peachstate Brass, participants must be able to play exercises 1-4 from audition music.
ABSOLUTELY NO BEGINNERS

DIVISIONAL YOUTH BAND (ages 14+)

To be considered for Divisional Youth Band, participants must be able to play exercises 5-8 from audition music.

CREATIVE ARTS AUDITIONS BELOW

To be considered for any Creative Arts group, participants music submit either a dance or drama audition.
Participants will be assigned to the appropriate group based on their audition and stated requirements

DANCE AUDITION INFORMATION

Prepare a dance for this audition. It should be 60-90 seconds in length and can be done to any clean and appropriate music
You will be evaluated on the below criteria, so please prepare your piece with these things in mind: 
·       Technique Level of dance training and execution of appropriate dance technique 
·       Expression Expressive and appropriate movement in both face and body 
·       Connection The “believability” factor. Visible connection to the lyric and message of the piece 
·       Memory Remembering choreography, and dancing through missed or forgotten steps without stopping 
·       Confidence Moving with conviction and strength 
·       Use of Stage Choreography moves around the floor and fills the empty spaces with purpose  

Do your best to submit a strong video: nice/clear background, appropriate clothing, good sound quality, etc. 
Be sure to say your first/last name, age, and corps at start of audition video. 

DARTS DRAMA AUDITION INFORMATION

Prepare the selected monologue . This is to be fully memorized.
Be sure to use lots of expression, the space around you, and don’t be afraid to add your own unique style to your performance!

You will be evaluated on the following areas, please prepare the monologue with these things in mind:  
·       Projection & Clarity Ability to speak clearly and with stage presence
·       Expression Expressive face and body, with appropriate vocal inflection
·       Use of Stage Use of space and movement that is purposeful and with conviction
·       Memorization Knowing the script and ability to carry on in character after a mistake
·       Confidence & Connection A strong stage presence while believing what you are speaking

Do your best to submit a strong video: nice/clear background, appropriate clothing, good sound quality, etc.

DIVISIONAL YOUTH PRAISE TEAM AUDITION INFORMATION

(Ages are 14+)

Prepare the selected piece and SUBMIT audition video. This audition uses the same material and requirements as TMI.

PIANO

(ages 10+)
No audition needed, but must register
SPACE IS LIMITED: Preference will be given to those students who attended this summer’s Music Conservatory

GUITAR

(ages 12+)
No audition needed, but must register
