AUDITION INFORMATION

ALL CONSERVATORY STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE A CHORAL AUDITION (SEE BELOW)


INSTRUMENTAL MAJOR AUDITIONS
All INSTRUMENTAL majors must complete an audition for band placement.

Each exercise is progressively harder than the one before.  Determine the hardest exercise that you are able to play well and practice that as well as the exercises before.


DRAMA MAJOR AUDITIONS
The monologue attached is to be fully memorized. Be sure to use lots of expression, the space around you, and don’t be afraid to add your own unique style to your performance!

Bring ALL black outfit for performances
1. Black short sleeve or long sleeve shirt (no tank top)
2. Black dress pants
3. Black shoes

Bring comfortable clothes for rehearsals! Be prepared to be moving around!
1. sweat pants
2. t-shirt
3. tennis shoes


DANCE MAJOR AUDITIONS
Prepare a dance of your own or learned choreography for this audition. It should be 32 counts in length (approximate length of a verse and chorus of a song) and can be done to any clean and appropriate music of your choice. 
You must bring a recording of the music or the recording should be ready available on either APPLE MUSIC, SPOTIFY or YOUTUBE

PIANO MAJOR AUDITIONS
We accept beginner pianists, but those with experience should perform a prepared piece which displays your ability so that we can gauge your level and prepare an individualized approach for your development over the summer. You may also be asked to play scales and possible sight reading depending on the level of your prepared piece.


GUITAR MAJOR AUDITIONS
We accept beginners, but those with experience should perform a prepared piece which displays your ability so that we can gauge your level and prepare an individualized approach for your development over the summer.


CHORAL AUDITION
All conservatory students must complete a choral audition for part placement in chorus. 
Be prepared to demonstrate your vocal range on a neutral syllable as well as sing the following vocal excerpt.
You may also be asked to sight-sing as well.
